Electro-mechanical engineering specialist Fletcher Moorland is gearing up for growth after agreeing a new partnership with global engineering company ABB.
In the last 12 months, Stoke-based Fletcher Moorland has invested more than £200,000 in stock and plant and machinery.
Now it has been named as a technical distributor for motors and generators as part of the ABB Value Provider network.
The deal means Fletcher Moorland customers will now benefit from additional services as well as round-the-clock access to ABB electric motors and associated engineering support and back-up.
The recognition from ABB will also allow the family-run company to increase turnover and add to its 70-strong workforce in the coming months.
Managing director Matt Fletcher said: “This is great news. We have always valued and respected ABB as a brand and are proud to be associated with such a reputable company.
“Having direct access to their motor products, services and best practices will allow us to serve the needs of our customers better.
“Whilst we have considerable expertise in motor repair, becoming a Value Provider now opens the door to selling newer motors like the SynRM, which can help customers to reduce energy use and save money.”

The ABB Value Provider Network offers 海角视频 customers access to ABB motors, variable speed drives and mechanical power transmission products together with a wide range of services, technical advice, training and bespoke contracts.
Although each ABB Value Provider is an established and successful engineering company, all members of the network are required to undertake regular training courses to ensure products and technical knowledge meet the required standards.
Fletcher Moorland is the only company in Stoke-on-Trent to be recognised by the company – and will now join a worldwide network of ABB partners.
Matt added: “The partnership with ABB will allow us to increase the turnover of the business and create employment, not only in distributing the products, but also by designing and installing engineering packages.
“This has come at a time of a great deal of investment in our business. We have spent around £200,000 this year in stock and plant and machinery, including several CNC machines for fabricating parts on-site, which helps to get our customers back up and running in even less time.
“We have also formed an automation projects division where we actively upgrade automation installations for our customers.
“This is an area I see growing rapidly in the coming years and we will be seeking machine control engineers, automation engineers and panel builders to fill roles for this in the coming months.”
