EYG turns 50 with recruitment drive to support housebuilding and home improvement boom

Fifty years of glazing is being marked by EYG Group as it launches a recruitment drive to meet lockdown-accelerated home improvement demand while serving high profile new-build residential development wins.

The Hull-based firm believes longevity in a sector has seen it thrive through recessions, recoveries and now a pandemic.

Nick Ward, managing director, said the company is building again, having seen domestic orders for windows, doors, conservatories and orangeries ‘skyrocket’.

He said: “We’ve been amazed by the demand for home improvements over the past six to nine months, which has clearly been influenced by the lockdowns we have been through. “Having spent so long at home people now want to make improvements and add more space, and many are clearly using money they have saved by not going on holiday to invest in their homes.

“We’re not just seeing this alone either as the whole glazing and home improvement sector is very busy and competitive.”

Building on the domestic arm, EYG Commercial carries out glazing contracts across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ.

It has long-standing partnerships with architects and contractors throughout the º£½ÇÊÓƵ, working on developments ranging in value from £30,000 up to £6 million, with a strong track record in new hotels and student accommodation blocks. The past 18 months have seen it increasingly add housebuilders looking for glazing partners.

The latest contract, for which fitting teams are about to start, is with fellow East Yorkshire business Beal Homes, on its new 80-unit Pilgrims Walk site in Hessle.
