A Devon business designing a device to cut harmful engine emissions has secured a new partnership with a leading military vehicle manufacturer.

Atmos-Clear, based at Hill Barton Business Park in Exeter, is working on technology which it says can be fitted to any fossil fuel engine, and reduce polluting carbon particles.

The business is one of two SMEs to have secured a deal with defence firm Jankel, as it seeks to address fuel economy and sustainability challenges within its sector.

Atmos-Clear explained that its Exo 1 and Exo 3 products allow fuel to burn “hotter and cleaner”, which it said result in a “drastic reduction” in harmful emissions and an increase in fuel economy.

As part of the agreement, Jankel and Atmos-Clear will bring the new technology to defence and security fleets globally, and will jointly support the product once it is in service.

In addition to the deal with Atmost-Clear, Jankel has announced it is also collaborating with Welsh company FuelActive on its own technology which seeks to protect engines from fuel contamination.
