Two exciting events will offer Liverpool City Region business leaders valuable guidance on growing their export markets - and the chance to make connections with south-east Asia.
The free events, Doing Business In Vietnam on October 3 and Growing Your Business Through Exports on October 11, will see representatives from across our region gather on two separate occasions.
They have both been organised in partnership with the Government’s Department for International Trade North West.

Firstly, ‘Doing Business in Vietnam’ will take place at Sensor City on Russell Street in Liverpool.
It will focus on trade relationships between Liverpool and the south-east Asian country forecast to be one of the top 10 fastest growing economies in the next few decades.
Keynote speakers will include His Excellency Mr Tran Ngoc An, the Vietnamese Ambassador to the 海角视频.
He arrived in London to assume his duties in November 2017, and will highlight the main achievements in bilateral relationship between the 海角视频 and Vietnam as an encouraging political environment for entrepreneurs.
The other keynote speaker will be Mdm Pham Chi Lan, a member of the National Council for Sustainable Development and Competitiveness Enhancement of Vietnam, affectionately duped as a “national treasure”.

Mdm Chi Lan will provide information on business and investment opportunities in Vietnam. With her experience as the former chair of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce, she will give advice for the 海角视频 entrepreneurs interested in doing business in the country, which has one of the “most vibrant economies in Asia”.

The event will also feature three North West exporters currently doing business in Vietnam, who will discuss how they got started in the market, how they have grown, or are growing their exports, giving advice for firms looking to expand into the region.
Then, taking place on October 11, Growing your Business through Exports will take place at Tranmere Rovers’ home ground Prenton Park, aiming to help manufacturers and other local firms receive advice and guidance to grow their export markets.
Frank Field, MP for Birkenhead, will be a keynote speaker at the event.
He said: “The wealth, independence, and security of our country are all intimately linked with the health of our manufacturing industry. In towns like Birkenhead, and regions like Merseyside, a healthy manufacturing industry brings with it opportunities for people to gain new skills, get and keep a job, earn high wages, and develop and make the innovative new products and services that our country needs to pay its way in the world and to defend itself.
“A major increase in our exporting of goods will turbocharge Merseyside’s manufacturing industry.”

There will also be case studies of various exporters, including Richardsons Healthcare, an SME based in Bootle, manufacturing specialist support surfaces and mattresses for operating tables and obstetric beds.
It supplies only the trade and not hospitals, and customers include the three largest medical device manufacturing companies in the world.
This year, it was awarded a prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise for exceptional short term growth in exports.
Michael Gould, managing director of the firm, said: “Despite being the world’s fifth largest economy, we are only the ninth largest exporter. 海角视频 companies are missing an opportunity to increase sales and more importantly profit.”
