Electric drive train specialist Magtec creates 30 jobs in South Yorkshire expansion

Magna 34 location sees consolidation from old sites in Rotherham and Sheffield

Magna 34 Business Park at Rotherham.

Vehicle electrification specialist Magtec has expanded into the final two units at Magna 34 Business Park, creating 30 more jobs.

The South Yorkshire business swapped for the 64,706 sq ft site, consolidating operations in Sheffield and Rotherham.

It will use the new facilities to scale up production to meet growing international demand for its technologies.

The site will now cover the full design, manufacture and integration of its world-leading drive systems for both electric and hybrid vehicles, taking employee numbers from 125 to 155.

Of the multi-million-pound commitment, Magtec managing director Andrew Gilligan said: “We are delighted to be opening our new factory and proud to be investing in the future of high-tech design and manufacturing in the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ.

“Fears over a climate emergency are driving change across the global transport industry and Magtec is absolutely at the forefront of the technology needed to make it happen. Our new factory gives us the space to grow, increase production volumes and fulfil our potential in this exciting sector.”
