A Dragons’ Den winner is working with two Midlands manufacturers to help with a major ramp up in production.

DIY innovation ‘GripIt’, founded by 19-year-old Jordan Daykin, secured £80,000 from Deborah Meaden on the BBC2 show.

The company makes a revolutionary new design of universal fixing designed for use with all types of plasterboard, and has been weighed down by demand since the moment on TV.

Now, Mr Daykin is working with Midland engineering firms Brandauer and Muller England to help produce hundreds of thousands of clips.

He said: “This is an invention born in Wiltshire and I’m delighted we’ve been able to work with two º£½ÇÊÓƵ manufacturers to help bring the product to market.

“Volumes are increasing all the time and we’re getting interest in GripIt from all over the globe. The world really is our oyster.”

Major º£½ÇÊÓƵ retailers B&Q, Screwfix and Wickes all stock it on their shelves and orders have been coming in from Europe, the US and Australia.

The two Midland manufacturers helped with a process to produce the clips with consistent quality.
