Grimsby鈥檚 craft brewery has launched a new tipple inspired by the offshore wind industry that is helping transform the town.

Docks Beers has brought forward Wind Power, a permanent addition to the range.

A 3.5 per cent session India Pale Ale, the striking green and white can design features offshore wind turbines, a wind farm engineer and the current fleet 鈥榣eader鈥 鈥 Orsted鈥檚 Edda Mistral service operation vessel.

Brewery director Shahram Shadan said: 鈥淭his beer is unashamedly inspired by the offshore wind industry which is reshaping our town and has refocused our future on the docks. The 海角视频 is pioneering offshore wind, with more capacity installed in our waters than any other country.

鈥淚t鈥檚 amazing to see Grimsby emerge as the world鈥檚 leading hub for the operations and maintenance of these gigantic feats of engineering that are being constructed in the middle of the North Sea. The whole process matches the hard work ethic of Docks Beers and so we wanted to pay homage to the sector. We would like to dedicate Wind Power to all the industrious offshore wind employees who we are proud to see drinking in our taproom. We hope this new beer is to their liking.鈥

Unlike the first three core beers brought forward by the King Edward Street team, it is a 440ml can, following on from the Overtime lager launch earlier this year.

The design has been brought to life by Kirk Arnold at the brewery鈥檚 鈥済o-to agency鈥 Source Four in Aylesby.

Head brewer and director Mike Richards said: 鈥淓ven though it is our lowest strength beer, Wind Power is a surprisingly full bodied IPA. It is bittered with ultra hops and has malt induced hints of biscuit followed by a lush, piney, resinous finish from a mix of Ekuanot, El Dorado and Azacca dry hopping.鈥

More than 2.6GW of offshore wind installed capacity is now controlled from the town, with a clear path to 10GW. Hundreds of jobs have been created in a first decade of delivery, with hundreds more anticipated as the scale ramps up.

The sector鈥檚 high growth is a key pillar behind the Town Deal, itself providing confidence for the likes of Docks and others to invest.
