A bespoke furniture business from County Down has been named as one of just 12 start-ups from across the 海角视频 in a programme run by the British Business Bank.
Woodwork by Will from Comber is one of 2021鈥檚 Start Up Loans Ambassadors, run by the British Business Bank and selected from the 1,367 companies from across Northern Ireland which have taken advantage of a start-up loan from the bank.
The bank said the programme, now in its sixth consecutive year, celebrates exceptional business owners who have followed the ambition of becoming their own boss after receiving support from the 海角视频 government-backed Start Up Loans programme.
It provides pre-and-post loan support to help applicants to develop a business plan; a fixed-interest loan of up to 拢25,000 to start or develop their business; as well as mentoring support to help loan recipients with everything from cash flow to marketing.
Will Smith from Comber took out two loans totalling 拢6,000 to launch Woodwork by Will, in January 2020 to follow an ambition of making his bespoke creations available for others to buy.
The funding has helped the company to increase its capacity and take on larger projects earlier than expected. He used the money to invest in essential machinery, including a table saw.
