Global tyre manufacturer Continental has opened an office in Warwick to be closer to the regional supply chain.

The company has taken space at the University of Warwick Science Park's Innovation Centre on the Warwick Technology Park.

The company, which employs around 200,000 people worldwide, will use the new office in Warwick predominantly for its customer-facing team in the region to service major local clients such as Jaguar Land Rover.

Key account manager Nasreen Djema said: "Our first motivation to move to the region was to be close to our client base.

"Warwickshire and the wider area has a very strong automotive sector and we wanted to have an office at the heart of that.

"There are other companies based here that work in the same field which is exciting and we also have opportunities to grow within the building over the coming years.

"The team at the science park have given us a really positive welcome and we look forward to a bright future here."
