A company which manufactures streetlight infrastructure has announced the appointment of a new CEO.

Brent Hudson replaces Will Franks as Telensa’s CEO, after the latter stepped down due to ill health.

Mr Hudson is an experienced CEO, having driven growth at a number of º£½ÇÊÓƵ and US technology companies including Travel Information Systems (QinetiQ), Tality and Sagentia Group.

He brings vital experience and expertise to lead Telensa, based in Sawston, in the next phase of its growth strategy.

“Brent has significant public sector, utilities and leadership experience, and has driven the development of several growth-stage Cambridge tech companies into large-scale enterprises,” said Martin McNair, Telensa chairman.

“In particular, his extensive global experience in negotiating strategic deals, working with some of the world’s largest technology companies, makes Brent the perfect choice to lead Telensa.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Will for his hard work and dedicated service which has been instrumental in growing Telensa to become the category leader in the smart city market.”

Mr Hudson said: “I’m excited to be joining Telensa at a pivotal moment, as we accelerate the growth of our global smart city business, working with key partners like Samsung and Microsoft.
