Birmingham entrepreneur who secured Dragons' Den backing wins Superdrug listing

Kameese Davis founded Nylah's Naturals to serve customers with textured and afro hair

Nylah's Naturals founder Kameese Davis has secured a listing with Superdrug

A Birmingham entrepreneur who recently secured £50,000 on hit BBC show Dragons' Den has won a listing for her haircare products with high street giant Superdrug.

Kameese Davis has created Nylah's Naturals which is a range of vegan beauty products aimed at people with textured and afro hair.

She was inspired to launch the business by her daughter Nylah who has eczema and is sensitive to a lot of hair care products available on the market.

Ms Davis won the backing of Dragon Sarah Davies on the show, which was broadcast in April, who agreed a deal for £50,000 in exchange for a 40 per cent stake in the business.

The 39 year old has since used the new capital to invest in R&D with the aim of expanding the product range to cater to all types of curls.

She referenced a potential listing with Superdrug during her pitch but the high street retailer has now confirmed the deal is in place.

Ms Davis, who previously worked as a career adviser and development trainer, founded her company in 2013 before spending five years working with chemists to research the needs of black hair, with 97 per cent of its ingredients coming from natural sources.
