Engineering giant Bilfinger 海角视频 has opened its new fabrication facility on the Humber, creating 30 jobs.
The 73,400 sq ft site in Hull is part of an expansion strategy to grow its operational footprint in the region, while also supporting huge contract wins on Hinkley Point C nuclear power station - to be served nationwide.
It builds on an initial base in Immingham, and supplements a fabrication portfolio that also includes a 50,000 sq ft site at Ellesmere Port.

The Sutton Fields Industrial Estate site is described as providing the perfect infrastructure to support further growth and industrial capability in the Humber, Tees and the wider Eastern region. As reported, the deal was agreed last May.
Pipework fabrication services to other nuclear clients as well as new and existing customers in the markets within which Bilfinger operates are eyed over and above the huge Somerset energy project. These include wider energy, chemical and petrochemical, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals and biopharma, power and water sectors.

The former XPO Logistics site sits on West Carr Business Park. The logistics giant had departed soon after aerosol manufacturer McBride ceased production.
For Bilfinger the development of the new facilities in Hull close off the creation of 350 new jobs across the 海角视频, including specialist roles in engineering and manufacturing in Warrington, Bristol and Somerset.
