Bentley has unveiled a new limited edition car which has a top speed of almost 200mph and will be restricted to just ten models.

Bentley Mulliner has added to its new Collections portfolio with a hand-crafted vehicle for the Japanese market – the Continental GT V8 Equinox Edition.

Under the bonnet of the Continental GT V8 Equinox Editions is Bentley’s twin-turbo V8 engine.

The new-generation 4.0-litre, 32-valve V8 develops 542 bhp (550 PS) and 568 lb.ft (770 Nm) of torque.

It also features dual twin-scroll turbochargers located inside the ‘V’ of the engine, together resulting in a top speed of 198 mph and 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds.

Bentley Motors' headquarters in Crewe is home to all of its operations including design, research and development, engineering and production of the company’s three model lines, Continental, Flying Spur and Bentayga.

Mulliner was founded as a saddler in 1559 and first partnered with Bentley in 1923 when it was commissioned to craft a bespoke, two-seater Bentley for the Olympia Show in London.

The new edition comes after the luxury car maker revealed plans to develop the first ever Bentley-branded luxury residential tower in the world.

The automotive giant has partnered with Florida-based property developer Dezer Development to construct Bentley Residences in Miami alongside Sieger Suarez Architects.

Bentley also recently completed its 200,000th luxury car since it was founded more than 100 years ago.

Last month it also unveiled "the most dynamic road car" in its more than 100-year history, the Continental GT Speed.
