A fledgling North Yorkshire wholesale bakery is expanding, taking on new premises to enable further manufacturing.

New manufacturing equipment is being bought, after a six-figure funding package was secured through HSBC.

It comes after 22 new members of staff were added in the past year as it secured national reach.

Pies, pastries, cakes and quiches are all sold into delis, farm shops and independent food retailers across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ from the North Grove Industrial Estate base.

Managing director Gillian Ridgard and co-director Cheryl Barrett pivoted quickly from selling to small retailers, to sell online through a hamper supplier for the local area when the pandemic hit.

Since then, the bakery has grown exponentially and now boasts a º£½ÇÊÓƵ-wide customer base, having expanded its product range to include savoury as well as sweet baked goods.
