Airbus workers at Broughton and Filton have secured a bonus of more than £3K after the business returned to profit.

The aerospace giant was badly hit by the pandemic and the total workforce at Broughton fell from more than 6,000 to just over 4,000.

But the recovery has gone well and the business posted strong results last month - although this was ahead of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

A worker told Business Live that this had seen them awarded a bonus of £3,173.

This was confirmed by the company.

An Airbus spokesman said: "We can confirm that all Airbus Commercial Aircraft employees in Broughton and Filton will receive a bonus of £3,173 through the company's 'Success Share' scheme.

"This follows better-than-expected, full-year 2021 financial results that we announced in February."
