Airbus has agreed in principle to a settlement with French, British and US authorities over an investigation into allegations of bribery and corruption, it said on Tuesday.
The European plane maker reached a deal after a three-year investigation into payments made to intermediaries to secure contracts for jet sales.
If approved by the courts, the agreements will result in Airbus taking a provision of 鈧3.6 billion(拢2.5bn) for the payment of potential penalties to the French, 海角视频, and US authorities.
These will be booked in Airbus鈥 2019 accounts.
Airbus has two main sites in the 海角视频, at Broughton in North Wales and Filton, near Bristol.
Yesterday Airbus said: 鈥淚n the context of the investigations by the French Parquet National Financier (PNF), the 海角视频 Serious Fraud Office (SFO) and the US authorities, Airbus has reached agreement in principle with the authorities.

"The investigations by the above authorities relate to allegations of bribery and corruption and to inaccuracies in filings made with the US authorities pursuant to the US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
鈥淭he agreement with the SFO was the subject of a preliminary court ruling today and will require final judicial approval in a 海角视频 court.
鈥淔urthermore, agreements with the PNF and the US authorities also remain subject to approval by French court and U.S. court and regulator, respectively.
鈥淭he court hearings in France, the 海角视频 and the US are expected to take place on 31 January 2020.
鈥淔urther details will be provided once the agreements have been finalised.
