Aerospace giant Airbus has announced that it plans to hire an additional 1,100 people in the 海角视频, with positions including cyber security engineers, software engineers project and programme managers, plus cryogenics system engineers, manufacturing engineers and robotics engineers.
The company, which employs thousands of people at its 海角视频 sites in Filton, South Gloucestershire, and Broughton, North Wales, noted its economic contribution to the Bristol area for 2022 was 拢445m.
According to the manufacturers鈥 latest Oxford Economics survey Airbus is the biggest civil aerospace exporter, the largest space satellite company, the biggest supplier of large aircraft to the Royal Air Force and responsible for around 50% of the 海角视频鈥檚 civil helicopter fleet.

The survey detailed Airbus鈥 contribution to the 海角视频, as well as its role in supporting direct and indirect employment across the wider aerospace and defence supply chain.
In Filton, Airbus employs more than 2,700 employees. The report highlighted that Airbus remains a key component of the 海角视频鈥檚 wider industrial manufacturing capabilities, supporting economic performance. The aerospace company supports 79,000 jobs, contributed 拢7bn to 海角视频 GDP and 拢3.9bn procurement spend in the 海角视频.
Commenting on the survey, John Harrison, Airbus general counsel and 海角视频 chairman, said: 鈥淭hese findings clearly show that Airbus is good for jobs, good for growth, and good for the 海角视频.

A major employer in Britain, Airbus directly employs nearly 12,000 people across its Commercial, Defence and Space and Helicopters divisions, and expects to hire a further 1,100 across the 海角视频.
