Ambitious plans to become a major Hull employer have been revealed by a new caravan builder, as it adds a second production facility, creating 20 new jobs.

Sunseeker Holiday Homes launched just over a year ago, and has now taken possession of the additional premises after securing more than £10 million of orders to take it through to the 2021 season.

It aims to treble production levels in the coming years, with the potential to employ 200 people.

Richard Moore, director, said: “We have been trading for a little over 12 months now and on the back of a really successful year we’re adding an additional production facility.

“It is a really exciting time for us. We are looking for 20 new members of staff, we aim to build 10 homes a week, and in the next three to five years we want to be doing 1,500 caravans a year - that’s potentially taking employment to 200 people.”

A £500,000 order from Blue Anchor Leisure on the Lincolnshire Coast is the “pick of many” now on the books.

“We have just over £11 million of orders to process,” he said. “The industry has gone crazy on the back on no-one being able to go away.”

The 20,000 sq ft site on Thomas Street, Wincolmlee, is added to Marfleet Works on Valetta Street, where it began last summer, with a team of 45 built up.
