Souter PR acquired by Jargon as firm targets £2m year

Jargon said the move will increase its presence within the North West - aligning the agency with the 'levelling up' agenda

Simon Corbett, CEO of Jargon PR

A North West PR specialist has been acquired by Hampshire-based Jargon in a move that will see the expanded firm's annual fee income exceed £2m this financial year.

Cheadle-based Souter PR will join the South East-based business, taking with it a portfolio of clients including business advisory Leonard Curtis, Roberts Bakery and loan lender Everyday Loans.

Jargon said the move will increase its presence in the North West - aligning the agency with the Government’s ‘levelling up' agenda that "continues to drive growth, investment and innovation across the region".

Founder Sue Souter will become associate director and report to CEO, Simon Corbett.

Mr Corbett said: “The team at Souter PR brings with them impressive experience and contacts, as well as a client base of exciting and innovative businesses across the technology and business-to-business market.

"Manchester was recently named the fastest-growing tech hub in Europe. Today’s acquisition will place the Jargon PR team at the heart of this incredible community, aligning the agency with the º£½ÇÊÓƵ Government’s ‘levelling up agenda’ that continues to drive growth, investment and innovation across the region.”

The firm added that all Souter staff will be retained by Jargon, with no redundancies made.

The news comes after a "successful" start to 2021 for Jargon PR, a firm established in 2009.
