Ascend Properties snaps up NW Estates as it looks to buy 10 more firms in next three years

The firm is exploiting the 'booming' property market

Ged McPartlin, managing director of Ascend Properties

A growing estate agency has snapped up North West firm NW Estates - and pledged to buy 10 more businesses within three years.

Ascend Properties has acquired the Warrington-based company, and said the move comes off the back of a "booming" property market - with many taking advantage of the current stamp duty holiday.

The Hertfordshire-headquartered has branch offices across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ including in Manchester and Liverpool, and said access to the Warrington market compliments its existing North West territories.

Ged McPartlin, managing director of Ascend, said: "We are in a strong financial position with a solid business in major parts of the north-west and we now want to fill in the gaps.

"If you have a winning, profitable formula even in uncertain times, you can have confidence in expansion even if some estate agencies may want to call it a day given the bumpy ride the industry has had of late."

NW Estates has 320 homes under its management, which will now join Ascend's 10,000-strong build to rent portfolio.

The firm hopes to anchor even firmer roots in the North West, in its quest to "dominate" the region with the goal being 10 further business purchases within three years.

Speaking about how NW Estates will change following the purchase, Mr McPartlin added: "It won’t look much different from the outside, It’s a great local brand with fantastic people working within it and that all remains as is.
