A Midland engineering firm has announced plans to create more jobs in the city after securing crucial European funding.

Burnsall Engineering was awarded £60,000 from the Regional Development Fund which has been used to buy two new state-of-the-art machines for its Coventry base.

The specialist tool making company produces mould tools for rubber and plastic products used in the automotive, aerospace and other major industries.

And the cash boost will not only secure the future of its workforce, it will help to create a number of new positions in Coventry. The ERDF funding is part of £2.1million secured by Coventry City Council to help local small and medium sized businesses with their plans to invest in capital equipment.

Burnsall Engineering is one of the first companies to benefit from the grant funding application.

Alan Bratby, Burnsall’s general manager, said: “We are delighted to receive an ERDF grant. This has enabled us to bring forward developments and create new jobs that were part of our future growth strategy.

“Being able to make these changes now will benefit our customers and have a positive impact on our future profitability.”

Burnsall Engineering, which was set up in the city in 1954, currently employs 35 people. The company has grown over the years and now has a well-established º£½ÇÊÓƵ and international customers base.
