A start-up recruitment firm is eyeing a turnover of more than £1 million in its first year after getting off to a 'really good start'.

Earlier this year, experienced recruiter Scott Daly stepped down from his role as director at IT services solutions business Certes to follow his dream of running his own business.

Now the 41-year-old has launched the Woodford Gray Group after 'six months of meticulous planning'.

Scott, who lives in Stoke-on-Trent, said: "Woodford Gray Group came about out of a mixture of things really – Certes was going in a new direction and moving away from traditional recruitment, I hit the age of 40 and I've always wanted to work for myself.

“I sat down with my wife and children and talked about potentially starting on my own. I've been in the industry for 20 years, so we decided that it was the right time for me to do my own thing.

"There's been a transition period at Certes, but I officially stepped down in January and started the Woodford Gray Group the following month. It’s like all of the stars aligned."

Woodford Gray Group is a tech, change and data recruitment specialist, which supports businesses across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ to 'hire, retain and grow'.

It operates across a variety of sectors including financial services, insurance, healthcare and food and beverage to fill both permanent and contract roles.
