A South Wales engineering solutions venture supporting infrastructure and renewable projects globally has opened new offices internationally as it plans to double current revenues of £27m over the next five years.

IPM Group (International Power and Marine Group), has also rebranded having previous been known under its businesses Industrial Power and Marine Ltd and Power Consulting Midlands.

From its headquarters in Barry IPM Group it is looking to expand its global footprint, having already completed over 16,000 projects worldwide, supported by new offices in Dubai and Japan. In the º£½ÇÊÓƵ the group also has offices in Barnsley and Burton on Trent.

Its chief executive Randall Smith said: “It’s been a very busy few years, and when we came together as a team to see where we wanted to take the business’ future, we were all in agreement that we wanted to go global, and expand our range of services and sectors.

“The first and easiest decision was to replace the word industrial for international in our name, to truly create a worldwide group that would be recognisable and successful. With incredible new partners in Dubai, and Japan, along with our existing team in Europe, we’ve been able to expand our client base, while still maintaining the ability for our teams to provide the local expertise and insights to shape smarter, safer, and sustainable solutions for clients.”

Richard Frearson, group chairman added “From humble beginnings back in 2001 our team today brings together decades of collective experience across the engineering and infrastructure sectors across the world, and I’m excited for the journey ahead. We are keen to ensure we’re not only increasing our market share, but to build strategic partnerships that will have lasting, positive impacts and that we nurture the next generation of engineers.”

The business is investing in and new processes are being implemented across the Group’s analytical platforms, artificial intelligence, and machine learning opportunities. Among these will be new bespoke software for streamlined operations, new technology to improve service delivery, enhanced data-driven decision making, and new intellectual property applications.

Chris Lewis, chief operating officer, said: “We are only too aware of the challenges that our clients face as the industry transitions towards net-zero and they search for sustainable operating methods. Understanding those challenges, and ensuring our teams deliver those solutions to the highest of standards, both personally and professionally is extremely important to me.
