Walker Forestry Services in Leicestershire launches online Christmas tree shop MyJinglTree.co.uk

Not only will the business supply your tree, but will collect and recycle it after Christmas

Walker Forestry Services has launched an online Christmas tree shop

A º£½ÇÊÓƵ forestry specialist has started selling Christmas trees online.

Leicestershire-based Walker Forestry Services has launched a new business called MyJinglTree.co.uk selling trees and providing what it says is an eco-friendly recycling service to help customers get rid of their tree after Christmas.

The business, based in Lutterworth, has trialled the service this year – and said it sold an initial 15,000 trees – and is already taking orders for 2020.

A 4ft 5ins Nordmann Fir for Christmas 2020 will cost £99 plus £18.99 for a stand, while a 6ft 5ins tree is £119.

A spokeswoman for Walker Forestry, which was launched in 2014, said it wholesales around 100,000 trees a year and wants to play a bigger part in reducing the 2.8 million or so Christmas trees which she said are imported into the º£½ÇÊÓƵ every year.

Over the coming months and years the company hopes to grow the four sites it currently operates, which will include a new one in Ireland next year.

The spokeswoman said: “For every Christmas tree they cut down from their plantation, they pledge to plant two more in its place.

“In addition, the recycling policy the company have in place prevents the release of methane through decomposition, reducing the carbon footprint further.
