Verity Milligan's favourite pictures of Birmingham

Lecturer and photographer trawls through her portfolio to showcase some of her own favourite pictures

Verity Milligan's favourite photos of Birmingham - in her own words

Has Birmingham ever looked more beautiful than through Verity Milligan's lens?

The Acocks Green photographer has built up a following on social media with a series of stunning landscapes of the city.

Originally from the Northamptonshire countryside, Ms Milligan is a late-comer to city photography but says Birmingham has got under her skin.

She said: "Birmingham is interesting because of its architecture - there is always something. I have fallen in love with the city and it is great you can share stuff and it actually helps to create a positive image of Birmingham as people can see what a great place we have.

"In a way, Birmingham made me because the way people have reacted to my photos has been so incredible."

Ms Milligan is one of a growing army of talented photographers sharing images on social media.

She works as a university lecturer but has landed photography contracts on the back of her online following.
