Two executive appointments delivered by Leicestershire's Pall-Ex

The business was previously owned by former Dragon's Den star Hilary Devey

Leicestershire logistics firm Pall-Ex has strengthened its management team with two senior appointments.

Former Palletways network development director Barry Byers has been appointed as the new º£½ÇÊÓƵ Pall-Ex managing director, while Martin Rantle has been named non-executive chairman, after previously serving as vice president of sales for DHL.

The new appointments have been made after Pall-Ex became the first pallet network to be owned by its members and senior management team - a deal that took place in October this year when founder, owner, chairwoman and former Dragon’s Den star, Hilary Devey agreed to sell the group.

Kevin Buchanan, now a shareholder in the business, remains chief executive.

Mr Buchanan said: "These are exciting times for the company and the new appointments will prove invaluable in accelerating our growth in the next few years as we take Pall-Ex to the next level.

"We are proud to be reinforcing our team for this new era with such experienced and knowledgeable individuals as Barry and Martin, who will support Pall-Ex’s status as the number one network for quality."

He said both will be instrumental in growing the company’s operations in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ and Internationally.

Martin Rantle, who has more than 30 years’ experience in the industry, said:"Pall-Ex has already made a major impact Internationally and I’m looking forward to building on these foundations as well as support the strengthened senior management team."
