A trio of transport companies have secured a multi-year storage and distribution deal with a Belgium-headquartered packaging manufacturer.

Gloucestershire-based Wrings Transport, North Yorkshire's Campeys of Selby and Premier Logistics of Leicestershire will work together under the framework of the Transport Association to deliver the contract for VPK Group.

The family-run firms will manage the transport of full-load and high-volume packaging from VPK's main º£½ÇÊÓƵ manufacturing sites to customers across the food, retail, and e-commerce sectors. It is understood that smaller consignments will be routed through the Palletforce network.

Premier Logistics' Leicestershire base will act as a central hub for the partnership.

Paul Barber, VPK packaging º£½ÇÊÓƵ and Ireland interim managing director, said the partnership would deliver "real value" for the company's customers.

“By aligning three family-run operators under one national framework, we gain the scale, flexibility and visibility to strengthen our º£½ÇÊÓƵ supply chain while reducing emissions and improving efficiency," he said.

“It’s a model built on trust and shared purpose, and it demonstrates what can be achieved when businesses collaborate to move the industry forward.”

Harry Campey, commercial and operations director at Campeys of Selby, said collaborating with other transport firms allowed them to compete with larger logistics businesses.
