A trio of transport companies have secured a multi-year storage and distribution deal with a Belgium-headquartered packaging manufacturer.

Gloucestershire-based Wrings Transport, North Yorkshire's Campeys of Selby and Premier Logistics of Leicestershire will work together under the framework of the Transport Association to deliver the contract for VPK Group.

The family-run firms will manage the transport of full-load and high-volume packaging from VPK's main Ƶ manufacturing sites to customers across the food, retail, and e-commerce sectors. It is understood that smaller consignments will be routed through the Palletforce network.

Premier Logistics' Leicestershire base will act as a central hub for the partnership.

Paul Barber, VPK packaging Ƶ and Ireland interim managing director, said the partnership would deliver "real value" for the company's customers.

“By aligning three family-run operators under one national framework, we gain the scale, flexibility and visibility to strengthen our Ƶ supply chain while reducing emissions and improving efficiency," he said.

“It’s a model built on trust and shared purpose, and it demonstrates what can be achieved when businesses collaborate to move the industry forward.”

Harry Campey, commercial and operations director at Campeys of Selby, said collaborating with other transport firms allowed them to compete with larger logistics businesses.

"Our SME family business approach ensures we go above and beyond to provide an enhanced level of service, a commitment to quality and an ability to build strong customer relationships," he said.

The model has been designed to be scalable and replicable, VPK said, providing a framework capable of supporting future growth and potential expansion across the Ƶ.

Macauley Christopher, Premier Logistics client relationship manager, said: “Our solution is inherently sustainable with optimised full load movements between each of our sites eliminating empty running, reducing distribution miles and emissions.

“With smaller consignments routed through Palletforce, we are delivering environmental benefits and supporting VPK’s mission to decarbonise its distribution chain.”

John Cook, Wrings Transport operations director, added: “Transport Association membership is a hallmark of quality, and our partnership has the strength to attract national customers seeking innovation and a fresh approach to help deliver renewed impetus to their distribution.

“The model is agile, scalable and can be easily replicated for other similar customers and industries thanks to the might of both the TA and the Palletforce network behind us.”
