The Top 100 businesses in Gloucestershire 2019 revealed

From manufacturing and engineering to fashion and finance - the world leaders in the county

Revealed: The Top 100 businesses in Gloucestershire 2019

Today BusinessLive can reveal the Top 100 businesses in Gloucestershire 2019, in association with GWR.

Look closely at Gloucestershire, beyond its quaint Cotswold villages and rolling hills, and you see a diverse range of businesses calling the county home - including world leaders in fashion, finance, manufacturing and engineering.

The nation may be suffering from ongoing political and economic uncertainty but it has been another mostly positive year for business in Gloucestershire, with companies jostling for a spot in the Top 100 list.

The turnover required to be featured in this year’s Top 100 is 17 per cent higher than in 2018 - up from £22.9m to £26.8m.

The top spot is perhaps not a surprise.

Wealth management group St James’s Place, based in Cirencester, has seen funds under its management grow to more than £100bn.

It has again demonstrated how financial companies can operate outside the City of London bubble.

Gloucestershire has a long history of innovation and companies like Spirax-Sarco Engineering, Safran Landing Systems and Renishaw are prime examples of how the county is a manufacturing and engineering powerhouse.
