A Birmingham events company which works with big-name clients such as Glastonbury and Reading and Leeds festivals has been bought out.

TicketSellers and Eventree have been acquired in a deal by Edinburgh-based Citizen Ticket.

TicketSellers is a partner for some of the largest event organisers in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ, working on shows such as Shambala music festival in Northamptonshire and Southampton International Boat Show.

Its accreditation software arm, Eventree, works with medium and large festivals such as Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, Reading & Leeds and Download.

The two businesses were founded more than 20 years ago by University of Birmingham graduates Mo Jones and Jimmy Hewson.

Citizen Ticket, which is an event ticketing and booking platform, said this acquisition marked a significant milestone for the business.

It now plans to roll out its own ticketing platform and the Eventree software internationally. Terms of the cash and equity deal were not disclosed.
