Profits at a luxury Cheshire country club have risen to their highest since being taken over by THG.

Hale Country Club has reported pre-tax profits of £1.5m for 2022, newly-filed documents with Companies House have revealed. The figure is up from the £408,000 it posted in 2021.

The total is the highest the club has achieved since the £2m it reported in the year to February 2016. THG took over the club later that year.

The new accounts also show that the club's turnover increased from £3.1m to £5.3m. The figure is the highest it has achieved in its history.

While THG is a public company and publishes its results on the London Stock Exchange, the figures for the country club have not been published until now.

When THG bought the club in 2016, the group said the deal was a continuation of its "commitment to substantial investment in infrastructure to support the growth and durability of its core online health and beauty businesses".
