THG hires new finance chief as co-founder moves roles after almost 20 years

Software and online retail giant THG has appointed a new chief financial officer.

Damian Sanders has taken on the role with immediate effect as co-founder John Gallemore moves to become chief operating officer.

Mr Gallemore co-founded the Manchester-headquartered group with Matthew Moulding in 2004 and has been CFO since then. He also held the position of COO from March 2008 to March 2011.

Mr Sanders has been part of the THG board for the last two years, having joined as a non-executive director on November 17, 2020.

Prior to joining, he was a senior audit partner at Deloitte for 20 years.

Mr Sanders said: "I'm delighted to be taking on the role of CFO at THG. I've got to know the business well in the two years since I joined the board and now look forward to working in an executive capacity to help drive the group forward as we continue to grow on a global scale."

Mr Gallemore added: ""Since Matt and I set up THG 18 years ago, we've enjoyed an incredible journey and have grown the Group into a truly global player, delivering record revenues of c. £2.25bn in 2022.
