International food ingredients supplier Terry Foods looks set to expand its range of products following the acquisition of one of it’s long-term partners.

Terry Foods, which is based at the Genesis Centre in Tunstall, has taken over European Food Ingredients Limited (EFI) in Tewkesbury.

Established in 1990, EFI has been supplying dehydrated raw materials, such as dehydrated fruit, vegetables, herbs and spices, to the food industry for more than 30 years.

While Terry Foods specialises in the sourcing and supply of food ingredients – from potato flakes to frozen veg – to customers around the world.

It was one of the first suppliers of chia seeds and quinoa and is now a ‘one-stop shop’ for more than 33,000 products. It’s biggest market is the bakery trade.

Managing director Matt Gardiner – who started the company in 2005 alongside his father John – says the deal to acquire the Gloucestershire business will help Terry Foods to expand its product range and cement its growing reputation in the food ingredients sector.

He said: “We have worked closely with EFI over the years and know the people and the business really well.

“This represents an excellent opportunity for us to increase the range of ingredients we offer to both our own and EFI’s customers and to build on Terry Foods’ growing reputation as an important player in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ’s food ingredient marketplace.”
