North East subsea specialist Tekmar Group has been picked for an offshore wind programme designed to help supply chain companies maximise their potential.
Tekmar Group in Darlington and Glasgow-based Windhoist Holdings Ltd are the latest two recruits to the Offshore Wind Growth Partnership’s (OWGP) Sharing in Growth programme.
The companies will benefit from a share of £1.5 million of business transformation support as part of the programme.

OWGP and Sharing in Growth 海角视频 Ltd have been working collaboratively with supply chain companies in the offshore wind sector since the start of the year, and are looking to engage with six to eight companies.
Combining experience from the aerospace and offshore wind sectors, the programme requires significant commitment from participating companies’ management teams, focussing on all aspects of the company that contribute to productivity, from leadership and culture to operations and logistics.
Tekmar and Windhoist join Global Energy Group (GEG), in Aberdeen, and Wescott Industrial Services based in Jarrow, South Tyneside, which have just completed their first 100 days on the programme.
All four companies will reap the rewards of support tailored to their needs, with the specific aim of increasing competitiveness and productivity within the offshore wind sector.

Tekmar provides technology and services for the global offshore energy markets, including subsea cable protection systems to windfarms around the globe.

News of AIM-listed Tekmar Group’s involvement follows on from the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding earlier this week with Maine-based DeepWater Buoyancy. The firms will pool their expertise to focus on the new and emerging floating offshore wind market.
Windhoist, meanwhile, is a global wind turbine installation contractor offering heavy cranage, mechanical and electrical services to wind turbine manufacturers.
A long time provider of services to the onshore sector, Windhoist, has over the last few years developed into offshore pre assembly and offshore labour provision as the market moves toward offshore installation and maintenance.

The OWGP is funded by members of the Offshore Wind Industry Council (OWIC) and as part of the Offshore Wind Sector Deal has a ten year budget of £100m to support the growth of the 海角视频 supply chain.
