Tech entrepreneur launches ScoPerks price comparison website

Innovation Birmingham Campus-based start-up aims to tackle price comparison sector with new loyalty reward website

Radu Judele, founder of ScoPerks which is aiming to gain a foothold in the price comparison website sector

A new price comparison website has been launched by a Birmingham-based entrepreneur.

Radu Judele has spent the past year developing ScoPerks which features seven million products from more than 600 retailers aimed at rewarding customer loyalty.

The site is aiming to differentiate itself from a heavily populated sector by giving a proportion of each retailer referral fee to the customer.

It does this by tracking order transactions and enabling customers to withdraw the credit placed into their ScoPerks account as cash or use it towards the purchase of their next item.

It said electronics and electrical goods accounted for the largest product segment on the site with retailers such as Amazon, BHS Direct and Currys/PC World already using it.

Mr Judele said: "There is no doubt the prevalence of online comparison sites is rapidly increasing.

"We have spent the past 12 months developing a huge search engine of live products, with multiple ways that customers can filter the search, including length of warranty, 'click and collect', preferred retailers, vouchers and other perks, as well as the price.

"The site is free to use, and with the money back credits it actually saves people money, compared to buying products direct from a retailer's website."
