Team Football scores again with latest World Cup license

Birmingham software start-up seals deal to create England football game

A Birmingham software development company has signed a deal to launch its second official World Cup football game.

Team Football has been granted a license to create 'Official England Football' which will be released later this month on iOS, Android and Windows 8 phones and tablets and which features commentary from BBC legend John Motson.

The deal to create under license 'Official Equipe de France' which is also due to go live later in June.

Like its French counterpart, the England game is licensed meaning Team Football has been able to use official branding, kit and logos as well as the likeness of players heading to the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

The game is only available to purchase in the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ but it does allow players in other territories to download the England data to add to their own playing experiences.

Music is provided by DubFX, using a version of 'Flow' as the title track for the game, a song which has garnered 20 million views on YouTube.

Team Football, which is based in Innovation Birmingham's Entrepreneurs for the Future centre and is part of its incubation support programme, said it expected to be making similar announcements for Brazil, China and Japan during the summer.

Creative director Steve Huckle, who co-founded the firm in October, said: "We hope to bring enjoyment to football fans across the world by giving regular updates and keeping up-to-date with real life scenarios.
