An event production firm has acquired a rival business.

Tamworth-based TechPro has bought Cannock outfit Edge Live which specialises in providing audio-visual services for live, hybrid and virtual events and conferences.

Edge Live's owner Matt Evans has joined TechPro as a company director, working alongside its director Mark Stokes.

The tie up means the new-look company can offer a broader range of services such as audio-visual solutions, technical equipment hire, virtual meetings, event design and project management.

Mr Stokes said: "Matt and I have known each other for a long time and worked on numerous event projects together and the synergies that exist between our two businesses made it an easy decision to acquire Edge Live and fold its services into ours.

"Often acquisitions are about reducing competition, gaining unique assets or new locations but this is an acquisition of valuable experience, knowledge and opportunities to enhance our services at a time when live event agencies are looking for cost-effective and sustainable solutions.

"The next step in the evolution of our business is building the studios to manage the delivery of virtual and hybrid events.

"By combining virtual elements with face-to-face meetings, event agencies can deliver the professional events their clients demand while reducing the requirements for all delegates to travel."

Mr Evans added: "Together, we believe we have a unique offering that combines the best technical expertise, unrivalled equipment quality and experience delivering, live, virtual and hybrid meetings of all sizes and complexity.

"In addition to the increasing demand for face-to-face meetings, conferences and seminars in the post-pandemic return to normal, the benefit of combining virtual elements to improve the sustainability of events is a growth opportunity for TechPro."
