Sustainability consultants used by Glastonbury and Coldplay hired by Co-op Live

A sustainability consultancy used by Glastonbury Festival and Coldplay has been hired by Co-op Live.

The £365m arena is currently being constructed at Manchester City's Etihad Campus and is expected to open towards the end of 2023.

The joint venture behind the project, which includes Oak View Group and City Football Group, has now appointed Hope Solutions to deliver the arena’s net-zero carbon ambitions.

The partnership will "drive the creation of a world-leading venue sustainability policy and carbon reduction framework" .

Hope Solutions will support Co-op Live to "drive meaningful change" in the live entertainment industry by "defining what net zero looks like for the project" and exploring potential options for verification schemes.

It will also establish a framework for measuring, tracking, reporting and reducing carbon impacts, addressing scope one, two and three emissions.
