Strategic Land Group marks Midlands expansion with acquisition of 16-acre site in Staffordshire

And the company has revealed plans for 150 new homes

The site in Stone, Staffordshire

Land promoter Strategic Land Group (SLG) has marked its expansion across the Midlands after signing a deal for a 16-acre site in Staffordshire.

The Salford business has acquired the greenfield land, in Stone, and has revealed plans for a new 150-home residential scheme.

The site is one of several in the Midlands and forms part of the company's wider strategy to expand into the region having, until now, primarily focused on sites in the North West and Yorkshire.

Paul Smith, managing director of Strategic Land Group, said: "We're very pleased to have acquired our 15th site, this time in Stone - it's an ideal location for much-needed new homes and will deliver high quality mixed market and affordable properties, along with new open space.

"Stafford Borough Council will be compiling a new Local Plan with sites allocated for new homes until 2040 - we're confident that this site will prove a sensible and desirable location to support the delivery of those new properties needed to underpin population growth in the coming years."

SLG is currently working with a 17-site portfolio and actively promoting sites with the potential to deliver more than 3,000 new homes and with a gross GDV of circa £500 million.
