Window company Strata is marking its 40th year in business with a brand new board of directors.
Rob Dale and Ian Hackwood have completed a management buy-out of the Stoke-on-Trent company following the retirement of its two former directors.
Managing director Rob and purchasing director Ian – who have clocked up a combined 66 years with Strata – have also appointed Sharon Parkes and Paul Wright to the board.
The pair will serve as health, safety and compliance director and operations director respectively and will play a key role in the company's plans to increase turnover by up to 15 per cent this year.
Rob said: “Our former directors, Tony Thornhill and Mark Stanfield, have both gone into retirement, now Ian and I have bought out the business and will be carrying it on.
“We have both been with the company for more than 30 years so we know the business inside out. I started on the sales counter in 1990 and Ian started as an apprentice joiner – he’s never worked anywhere else.
“As part of our plans, we have also appointed two new directors to the board, including Sharon Parkes who is the company’s first female director.”
Strata was established in 1981 when DIY store manager Finlay Walker began importing patio doors and selling them to customers in the 海角视频.

He opened a small showroom in Leek Road, and eventually left his full-time job to set-up the Strata Sales Company.
In 1986, the company moved to Britannia Business Park in Cobridge and began offering commercial windows and conservatories.
Today Strata – which relocated to its current base on Festival Park in 2002 – has a team of 26 staff and 12 installers which supply and fit uPVC, timber and aluminium doors, windows, conservatories, orangeries and garden rooms for domestic and commercial clients in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, Cheshire, the Midlands and North West.
It is also the approved contractor for Staffordshire County Council and an official partner of well-known brands including Thomas Vale, Balfour Beatty and St Modwen.
Rob said: “We have built up a great reputation over the last 40 years and we have a really strong relationship with our clients. We have become a big name, locally, particularly on the domestic side but commercial work now makes up around 40 per cent of our business.
“Customers come to us because we can sort everything from the planning permission and installation to the electrics and even decorating.”
He added: “We are already back to full capacity and sales are increasing all the time because everybody is busy doing DIY or moving into new homes. Consumer confidence is definitely returning now.

“Our plan going forward is to maintain our sales growth until we are almost completely clear of the pandemic, then we will start to look at launching new products.
“We expect to increase turnover by between 10 and 15 per cent in the next 12 months.”
