Zoah Consultancy was founded in 2023 and is based in London, but operates globally. The company has a core team and a network of freelance coaches, trainers, and consultants who work on different projects.
Describe your business in a nutshell. Zoah Consultancy helps leaders and teams think, lead, and thrive better by transforming workplace behaviours.
We specialise in communication, leadership, and mindset development, working with organisations that genuinely care about their people. Our science-backed approach equips leaders with the tools to create psychologically safe, high-performing workplaces where people don’t just survive - they thrive.
What inspired you to launch? I’ve always been passionate about behavioural science, leadership and making work better.
Through my experience as a coach, speaker and consultant, I saw how many leaders struggled - not because they lacked intelligence or technical skills - but because they didn’t have the behavioural tools to navigate leadership effectively.
I wanted to create something that didn’t just provide one-off training sessions but deep, lasting transformation. Zoah was born from the belief that workplaces should empower, not exhaust people - and that starts with great leadership.
How much cash did you use to set up? Zoah was built with a minimal initial investment - under £2,000 - because I wanted to prove the concept before scaling. I focused on securing high-impact client work first rather than spending on overheads.
Where did you get your funding? I bootstrapped the business from my own savings and reinvested early profits into growth. I also leveraged existing networks, speaking engagements, and referrals to build a solid foundation before exploring larger-scale investments.
The biggest lesson learnt? Your network is everything. People buy into trust, credibility, and relationships before they buy your services. Showing up consistently and delivering excellence leads to the best opportunities.
Most stressful moment? Experimenting with cold outreach to win clients was a big challenge. I was used to referrals and warm leads, but learning how to sell to people who don’t know you yet pushed me out of my comfort zone.
The proudest moment? There have been so many! But one that stands out is being chosen for the Immerse Catalyst Accelerator in partnership with Foundervine and Lloyds Bank. It was a huge validation of Zoah’s potential and the impact we’re making.
Best thing about running your own company? The freedom to build something meaningful - on my own terms. Seeing the real, lasting impact our work has on leaders, teams, and workplaces is incredibly rewarding.
Hardest thing about running your own company? Balancing growth and well-being. As someone who preaches resilience and mindset shifts, I have to make sure I don’t fall into the trap of burnout. Learning to delegate and pace myself has been key.
What should the government be doing to support businesses like yours? Funding for leadership and behavioural training - not just tech and innovation. More access to corporate contracts for Black-owned businesses. And investment in long-term leadership development programmes to support businesses that focus on people and culture.
Where do you seek guidance and advice? I lean on mentors, business communities, and other founders who have navigated similar challenges. Programmes like the Catalyst Accelerator and my network of coaches and leadership experts have been invaluable.
What’s the best piece of business advice you were ever given? "You don’t have to work with everyone - only the right people." It’s easy to chase every opportunity, but working with aligned clients who truly value people creates the biggest impact (and avoids the stress of working with the wrong fit).
What’s the secret to success? Consistency, curiosity, and community. Success isn’t built overnight - it’s about showing up, learning, evolving, and surrounding yourself with the right people.
