A family-run photography business has opened a new studio in West Bridgford, Nottingham, with backing from HSBC.
Magpie Portraits owners Simon and Wendy Mackney, together with photographer Charlotte Eley, have expanded out of Derby into the neighbouring city. A new 1,096 sq ft boutique studio called BlossomPop will specialise in luxury family, maternity, baby and newborn portraits.
The five-figure funding package from HSBC was used to fit-out the property with a partition wall, furniture and equipment including cameras, lighting, computers, screens and props and backdrops.

The loan also supported the business in developing a website and marketing strategy to bring in new bookings.
The pair’s original site, called Mackney Photography, is in central Derby and the Nottingham location is the next step in the business owners’ growth plans, with further sites set to be added to their portfolio in the coming years.
Wendy Mackney said: “We are so pleased to officially open BlossomPop.
“We fell in love with this part of Nottingham, and we are so excited to welcome in new customers from the local area.
“HSBC º£½ÇÊÓƵ’s support over the past decade has been immense, and the new funding has allowed us to fit-out the site to the highest standard.”
