Start-up bin cleaning firm which has expanded across the Midlands wants a 'team of 100' in the next five years

In just six months the company has expanded across the entire ST postcode area, Birmingham, Lincoln and Lowestoft

Danny Rough is the founder of Clean Binz

The founder of a start-up wheelie bin cleaning business which has expanded across the Midlands has unveiled his ambition to have 'a team of 100' in the next five years.

Former courier Danny Rough set up Clean Binz in April offering commercial and domestic wheelie bin cleaning services to customers in Staffordshire.

But in just six months the company has expanded across the entire ST postcode area as well as Birmingham, Lincoln and Lowestoft.

Now 33-year-old Danny, from Stafford, is planning to continue the company's expansion in 2021 - and establishing a base in the North West.

He said: "Wheelie bin cleaning is something I'd been thinking about for a while, but I knew that to be able to grow a business I would need some experience in customer service, so I spent a year working at bet365 and I learned so much there.

"I left in October last year and went back to being a courier for a while while I got my own business off the ground; I didn't know how things would go with all of the uncertainty around covid, but it didn't take long to get to the point where I needed to quit my job and go into Clean Binz full time. It took off overnight."

Since its formation, Clean Binz has gone from Danny and his van to a team of 11 who are based across the Midlands.

Danny has also set-up a sister business, called My Binz, which operates across the country though other wheelie bin cleaning firms.

Danny said: "I've always wanted to be a millionaire since the age of 12, but I never thought it would be through wheelie bins. Then again, they do say ‘where there’s muck there’s money’."
