Staffs courier firm expands into London with new Heathrow Airport base

The company is also on the look-out for self-employed drivers based in the south

Crown Couriers has opened a new base in London

Same-day delivery business Crown Couriers has expanded into London with the opening of a new office.

The Tamworth business has invested in a new base at the grounds of Heathrow Airport to service customers in and around the city.

The company already support the airport by providing same-day deliveries for its baggage repatriation service but now it it looking to expand its operations in the capital - and grow its driver network in the south.

Area sales manager Tony Clements will be heading up the new office.

Crown Couriers' managing director and founder, Tim Seagers said: "Despite the current economic climate, it’s important that we continue to invest and grow the business strategically, as planned.

"Having a London office is vital for our growth in the region, enabling us to take on self-employed drivers and employ an area management team based locally to provide dedicated support to businesses."

He added: "With a dedicated team in the region, we can focus our resource more effectively and quickly to businesses in the area, for both new and existing clients. This is a very exciting but important move for us."

The London office launch coincides with company's 30th anniversary this year; having grown from a Midlands-based courier service to a nationwide same day provider in the last three decades.
