Staffordshire pallet supplier set to double capacity after £2.25 million investment

Uttoxeter-based PPS Equipment Holdings also intends to create 24 new jobs

PPS Equipment Holdings provides reusable, returnable and recycled transit packaging

A Staffordshire pallet supplier has secured more than £2 million investment as part of plans to double its capacity.

Sustainable transit packaging firm PPS Equipment Holdings, based in Uttoxeter, has been awarded £2.25 million from national investor Frontier Development Capital.

Established in 2002, PPS provides reusable, returnable and recycled transit packaging such as trays, crates, pallets and boxes to the fish and meat processing sector, offering customers cost effective, environmentally friendly alternatives to single-use packaging.

The financial backing from Frontier Development Capital will help PPS almost double its capacity through new machinery and investment into automation.

It also wants to create 24 new jobs at its production facility on Marchington Industrial Estate.

David Peggie, founder of PPS Equipment Holdings, said: "Sustainability has been at the heart of our business model since 2002 and has become increasingly important for our customers.

"Our returnable transit packaging solutions not only minimise waste and reduce carbon in customers' operations, but drive further efficiencies across their supply chain, which is even more critical in the current climate.
