A thriving enterprise centre for small businesses is set to treble in size to accommodate 100 more jobs through a major expansion announced by the district council this week.

The expansion of the Four Ashes Enterprise Centre - located off the A449 between Wolverhampton and Stafford - will create an additional 35,000 sq ft of commercial units, ideal for start-up and growing businesses.

The new units will vary in size, ranging from 936 sq ft to 4,000 sq ft. They will be spread across three blocks and each will have its own office, kitchen and toilet facility with roller shutter doors.

The expansion - which has been procured to Midlands construction firm G.F Tomlinson - will see the enterprise centre treble in size from 15,600 sq ft to 50,572 sq ft.

The facility, which is owned and managed by South Staffordshire Council, has been a popular location for businesses since it was built in 2004.

Now, to meet the need for additional commercial units in the area, the council is investing more than £24m across all its business sites to support local businesses and the wider economy.
