Staffordshire cleaning business makes tidy acquisition

The deal will see 15 new staff join the Cheadle-based company

Moorland Contract Group director Suzanne Lawson

A growing cleaning company has added 15 staff to its team after making a strategic acquisition.

Moorland Contract Cleaning, which operates out of DaisyBank House Business Centre in Cheadle, Staffordshire, has acquired the cleaning contracts, staff and a 'sizeable' portfolio of local clients from Stoke-on-Trent-based Spick and Span Services.

Part of Moorland Contract Group, Moorland Contract Cleaning has grown significantly in the past two years through winning new contracts, developing own brand products and through the formation of its janitorial supplies and window cleaning divisions.

And the company expects its growth to continue in future as hygiene remains a top priority for businesses amid the pandemic.

Debra Donaldson, owner of Spick and Span Services, said: "I had decided it was time to sell so long as I found the right buyer.

"I wanted to ensure that our staff and customers would be well looked after by any new owner.

"A friend of mine attended the same networking group as the Moorland Contract Group and suggested it would be a good idea to talk to them as a potential buyer.
