National construction tech company Causeway Technologies has snapped up Newcastle’s SpecifiedBy in its second major North East deal in a week.
The Gloucester company has acquired the building products information platform in an undisclosed deal.
SpecifiedBy was set up eight years ago to help architects and others working in the construction industry to find and research building products and materials, through modern search, comparison and information management tools. The firm’s aim is to create the most comprehensive online database of products and materials in the 海角视频 and it currently has over 2,600 suppliers and 65,000 active monthly users, meaning it leads the 海角视频 market in digitised product information.

“This is a vital step towards achieving our platform vision where pre-construction and procurement phases are fully integrated, giving buyers and suppliers increased process efficiencies and data insights.”
The deal comes a week after Causeway opened a “centre for engineering excellence” in Middlesbrough town centre, bringing 100 new jobs.
The company already had a small office in Middlesbrough’s Exchange Square, but has now invested £1.5m into a top floor office at One Centre Square, and says it has a significant amount of development planned in the coming months.
Tech roles with the firm include software developers, product managers, quality assurance managers and customer support.
