Recruitment and training business Optima 海角视频 is helping four young people to Kickstart their own fledgling careers.
Based in Enderby, Leicester, Optima helps companies across the 海角视频 to find talented people to fill roles in sectors such as legal, accountancy, financial, manufacturing, engineering, and aerospace.
It has itself now taken on four new people as part of the 海角视频 Government鈥檚 Kickstart apprenticeship programme, which provides funding to employers to create jobs for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit.
Jacob Edwards, Hannah Humpreys, Satinder Kaur, and Jayden Patel have all begun roles within Optima鈥檚 different divisions.
Larraine Boorman, Optima鈥檚 chairman and chief executive, said: 鈥淲ith young people being most affected by unemployment during the pandemic, we are delighted to be in the position to take on four new young people through the Kickstart apprenticeship scheme to prepare and develop them at the beginning of their careers.
"Through our Training team, we have developed a comprehensive induction and development programme that will provide them with the skills and tools they will need to carry out their job effectively.
鈥淚t also focuses on developing a range of soft skills that will enable them to progress in any organisation.鈥
Jacob Edwards, 22, from Leicester, who has a degree in Automotive Engineering, is one of the four new interns and he has joined Optima鈥檚 Engineering division.
He said: 鈥淚 was struggling to get a job, and so I signed up to the Kickstarter scheme.
鈥淥ptima caught my eye and although I have only been here a short time, I have found it to be a positive, supportive community of people.
鈥淚 am hoping that I will be able to develop my own skills and use this programme as a stepping stone to really launch my career.鈥
