Leicester and Leicestershire Business Gateway is offering small business owners a chance to develop their skills with a personalised package of coaching, support and consultancy.
The team at the business support body hope the leadership package 鈥 called 鈥楤ecome the Leader you want to be鈥 鈥搘ill make a change from 鈥済eneric leadership training delivered using slides and an online presentation鈥.
It will be delivered by experienced business mentor and consultant Ian Baker who has been in the business orf three decades working with big names in retail, consumer goods and pharmaceuticals.
He said: 鈥淚 think people have had enough of sitting through 鈥榦ne size fits all鈥 presentations 鈥 we鈥檙e all different, we鈥檙e all individuals so our approach reflects that.
鈥淲e will provide you with individual one-to-one sessions so that you can raise your leadership game and feel able to tackle your business issues.
鈥淔irst of all, we鈥檒l have a deep dive session into what you鈥檙e all about as a person and a business leader 鈥 don鈥檛 worry, we make it enjoyable for you.
鈥淔rom this, we create a plan together with tangible actions and goals. People tend to stick to this plan because it鈥檚 been co-created.
鈥淚f you鈥檙e running a business but you have a gut feeling that something isn鈥檛 quite right, this support is for you.
鈥淧erhaps you feel stuck and unable to get to the bottom of these issues on your own.
鈥淭hat鈥檚 why we start with the people first as that鈥檚 really useful when it comes to looking at the processes and physical aspects of the business.
鈥淚 help people become better leaders and business owners and create their own legacy.鈥
A spokesman for the Business Gateway said: 鈥淭he programme has been designed in response to what the Business Gateway has seen among many small and medium businesses 鈥 they achieve a certain amount of growth without formal leadership but within time reach a crucial point where they can鈥檛 progress any further without it.
鈥淥ften issues such as apparently poor processes or a lack of focus in the business actually come because of this lack of leadership skills and focus.鈥
The support programme is free to participating small businesses and available from now until March 31, 2022.
Each package of support will be unique to the individual and with a maximum of eight hours per person.
